Purses of Hope

We cannot say enough about our volunteers that come together each year to help us sort and fill  the purses,  preparing them to be delivered through the various agencies. TO all those who work behind the scenes, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and collecting. THANK YOU! For sharing your HEART and your HANDS. We could not do this without your support and generosity.

Our Volunteers

  fundamentals from our “Wish List”
• Help keep the sorting process fun by bringing their sense of humor and organizational skills

There are many ways that you can become involved with Purses of Hope. Our purses are donated and filled through donations large and small. We rely upon the kindness and generosity of many individuals that is so evident in our city. Our Sponsors provide assistance in  SO many ways that ensures we can continue our mission of “Giving HOPE….One Purse at a Time”.

Some suggestions on how to get involved:

• Sorting your closet and parting with gently used purses (we prefer larger purses to replace their back packs, but all sizes are filled and distributed)
• Look through your scarf collections – any extras? We tie a scarf on each purse. 
• Knit or crochet? We have many ladies that make scarves, toques, head bands and wash cloths
• Having a special occasion? Ask your friends to bring items from our Wish List
• Organize a drive with your friends to fill a few purses
• Engage your co-workers in gathering filler items from our wish list OR new and gently used purses
• Travel or know someone who does? donate UNSUED shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion
• Have contacts that work in the beauty industry? Ask about donations of NEW cosmetics or other personal care items
• Start collecting early. 
• Work with kids? This is a great way to get them involved by helping them collect items for the purses
• Do you know of a company that would like to become a sponsor? Sponsors provide us with larger quantities of wish list items, monetary assistance, drop off points during our annual campaign, AND help us sell Judy’s Jams and Jellies.
• Monetary donations through e- transfer or Pay Pal
• Have a “Toonie” drive. 
• Make your friends and contacts aware of Purses of Hope. Follow us on Instagram #pursesofhopeyyc
• Give the gift of your time by volunteering
